Student Experiential Learning Projects
The Diplomacy Lab is a public-private partnership between the United States Department of State and more than 60 U.S.-based academic institutions. In the Lab, Foreign Service Officers identify topics in need of research and innovation support and are matched with faculty-led student teams. During the project, officers meet regularly with students to provide direction and guidance.
Over 100 Fall 2026 project topics are now available. Faculty are invited to “bid” on projects with a few short paragraphs by April 10. The project proposer will then select one or more teams to execute the project. A new list of remaining projects will be posted soon after and remain available through September 7.
